You may be a broken crayon, but you still have worth and value. God loves and adores you so much that He refuses to leave you broken and battered. There are times He will challenge you to do something outside of your comfort zone so that you can heal.This book is a blessing and it is not one of those books that you read once. No, you will find yourself reading it over and over again. It will encourage you and you will be compelled to shake off past hurts, pains and rejections. You will be extremely blessed by this book and will want to share it with others.After reading this you will know that broken Crayons really do color. And remember that God is not looking at your brokenness, He sees the beauty from the ashes. Broken crayons can make a masterpiece.

I follow Shelly Hitz on Instagram and Skillshare because I love her motivating and inspiring art and Christian values. When I heard she wrote an interactive book about her life, I was really interested. I admire how open she is about her difficult past and how she keeps on persevering. Also, the set up of her book is cool! Before each chapter, Shelley has a link where you can watch a 45 minute-ish video while filling in some blanks. Next comes a short chapter, guiding questions, and it's accompanying coloring page. I recommend this for people 15+ who are looking for some encouragement to keep going and enjoy life. Thank you so much, Shelley!

We've all experienced brokenness in different ways, so this book is relevant for everyone. What I love about it is that it helped me to see brokenness in a different way, a way that encouraged me and gave me hope. If you ever struggle with why you've experienced some of the hardships you have or wonder if God can still use you in spite of negative things that have happened in your life, this book will give you a fresh perspective. Highly recommended.

I started reading this book while waiting to board a flight for Denmark. I kid you not, I was bawling before we boarded. Once the flight took off, I had a blanket over my head because I didn't want fellow passengers to see my crying my head off. This book really cuts to the core. I could intimately relate to what Shelley was talking about. I purchased the book for my mother and she was so moved by it. Emotionally gripping, great advice and counsel on how we can take what's been broken in our lives and build something beautiful from it.

I purchased this book for a women's group at church. It is set up in a way that allows you to choose the length and depth of the study of each chapter without losing any important content along the way. My group loved having hands on activities to keep hands busy as ears listenee and hearts shared. I would recommend this book to any individual or group that is needing confirmation that God created you for a plan and purpose...and the plan He created you for doesn't change. Even if you are a little broken inside through some rough times...your crayon (your created purpose) is still: you. You are still created with the purpose to color.The ability to download corresponding videos and coloring pages was a nice addition to my group study resources.

I liked it because it brought a group of women together, who otherwise would not have ever met and we've moved on to other Bible studies. The stories were good, but I felt the speaker would hold an audience of young girls much better than adults. Her hiccup giggling was annoying at best. Her questions in the workbook on some weeks were very thought provoking, but mostly, I had to go through and give journal prompts and questions that were along the lines of adult conversation, rather than that of a teen audience. She's wonderful for teens. The topics deal more on what they face in today's world. I just felt it was too "simple" for our audience. So, it was mediocre at best. I do hurt terribly for what all she's been through and the message is clear; that regardless of things we've dealt with, we are still worth it and can use our hurts for the Greater Purpose of God's Glory.

Shelley does a tremendous job of sharing examples of God's ability to heal hearts and use souls for His glory. She reveals painful experiences in her life that even though she may have felt broken, God used her brokenness to help others. The biblical truths referenced in her book, reinforce and remind us that God has a unique purpose for us. There are beautiful pages to color, access to heartfelt videos, and thought-provoking questions at the end of each chapter as well. I truly appreciated the author's honesty and her willingness to open up and share what it felt like to not only be broken ,but to experience God revealing Himself to her. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and I highly recommend it for anyone who has ever felt broken at some point in their life.

I am not quite done with this book yet. I am working on it by myself. I am almost done, but thus far, I am loving every minute of it. It is very informative and inspirational. It has really helped bring me closer to the Lord and even though my understanding of "why" things happen is not clear....Shelley even states in the book, we will never know why, I know that through the trials I am enduring, the Lord is there, watching over me. Shelley has made it clear to me that things happen to us all and that God is always there. This book is a must read and do, especially if you are feeling broken inside, about anything.
