Great book, thorough, handsome, quality. The seller stated clearly that there were a couple cosmetic flaws due to being on the shelf and they were right. I really appreciated their honesty!The book is heavy with beautiful cream colored pages . The edges of the pages, on the outside, are a golden bronze color. The pages are a flat or matt (not glossy) type of paper which is less likely to smear and smudge. Most of the questions have ample space to write the answer if you have small to medium handwriting. If you have large or loopy type of handwriting it may not be enough. I love the fact that this book has a Table of Context in the front! There is a section in the back that have (blank) lined pages that you can add to. I wish the authors would have added these to each individual section though instead of just the back. This is a large book, something that will look pretty wherever you store it (like a bookshelf or coffee table). The only problem I had with this particular copy was that it smelled like formaldehyde. I think it was the type of plastic it had been wrapped in.

After receiving the first one bought two more for gifts. This book covers every aspect of your life with chapters and respectful questions that generations will enjoy reading. There are pages in the back of the book for if you run out of room and need to continue writing on another page. Some chapters like Military Service did not pertain to me , so I just used white out to cover the questions and used the chapter for family stories told to me by my mother and father.

I give one of these to many of my friends and tell them to give their family the story of their life, as not anyone else has their story. put all in it the good the bad the ugly, what a story each of us has, after we are gone, the family will get some insight to you, and can laugh and cry with you, what a gift to them.

This book is really nice quality. I got one when they were $40 and another when they went on sale for $15. I saw some people complain about the price but it really is a large very nice hardback. If you don't mind waiting for it to go on sale and snag one then. Some of the questions are very personal so I do not expect them back until my parents have passed.

This book may be seen by some as a bit too thorough, for it covers every possible aspect of anyone's life! But you CAN skip over some parts that you don't wish to go into and just work on it from time to time, when you're in the mood, as I have. Just be careful when you have it out, for I got up quickly one time and accidentally spilled coffee on it! (My sister said, "Can't you just get another one and start over again?" Like I said, it's VERY thorough and, after all that writing, that's something you WON'T want to do again!)

As my mother aged, I found it was hard to engage her in conversations. This book, The Story of A Lifetime, was such a great resource for me. It's a huge book of questions. Since she wasn't able to fill in the answers, I used it as a source for thought-provoking questions about her life. She and I had some delightful conversations that started with questions from this book. It's a great gift for someone who can write in his/her own responses. It's a great tool for getting that parent or grandparent to talk.

I love this book and I have given it to my daughters, granddaughters, and other young people who may want to write about their lives and don't know where to start. This book prompts you with questions, which in turn helps you to remember events. I have one myself and it really makes me think about my life and all of the wonderful experiences of my childhood. I will continue to purchase this book as a gift for family members when each turn 18 years old. I rave so much about this book that colleagues have bought the book for wives,mothers, and themselves, amazing!! All I can say is BUY IT!!

I got this for my mom , it was in my cart for a year , I had 2 one for my husbands mom as wellZ she died from cancer a few months ago . I wish I had gotten this for her. My moms came in 2 days ago and she has started writing in it. I have told about 30 people this and to order so you may go out of stock. I messaged them all last night and some a few days ago. It's a wonderful idea and something iltonhold dear forever. Xo
