Deep and true. I read this book in the 80's and still think of it today. It's a beautiful meditation on life whether you are a potter or a poet or just plain human.

This was one of the first books I ever heard of that relates to what is today being called "mindfulness", or awareness of one's state of mind and one's choice of things to think about it. Excellent, from a fine thinker and useful in that she was in touch with herself and life but was NOT a professional mind healer.

Love the philosophy of Mary Caroline Richards! Inspirational book for teachers.

I've never read a book like "Centering." It's more than a book on pottery. It's a treatise on how to see, how to think, how to live. It's wonderful.
